In Happier News - Pacific Ocean Blues

I finally got through my nice new copy of Pacific Ocean Blue by the middle boy, Dennis Wilson.

Having listened to it three times today, please good god hear it.

It is truly wonderful - beg borrow or in extreme cases even BUY a copy for yourselves. It is gorgeous, but in a different way to Brian Wilson's work, SMiLE and classics like Pet Sounds.

It has a certain amount of crazed randomness and dramatic tone and key shifts like a sort of seaside Forever Changes. The new version also contains a second CD with his unfinished (due to that old drug problem) work towards a second album.

Dennis was the first of the three Wilsons (he was the middle son, Brian the eldest and Carl the youngest) to record a solo album. Not bad for the drummer eh?

I hope you hear this and enjoy it. Difficult to say whether it has a lasting quality like SMiLE has for me, but time will tell. It certainly sounds great to me right now.
